Why Are Movies So Bad? Publication
I re-envisioned Pauline Kael's 1980 article entitled "Why Are Movies So Bad? Or, the Numbers." with collages that reflects the analog imagery of the 80's, and use stills from the movie titles that Kael references. Kael talks about money hungry film executives, the Hollywood star system, and the film audiences thirst for better content. The imagery I created uses money, photos of the stars of the day, and other graphic elements to beautifully tie together and emphasize the points that Kael makes.
